The cherries in the upper left corner of the piece represents Michelangelo's "The Creation of Adam", a fresco on the Sistine Chapel ceiling (c. 1512) as well as Abstract Picnic Member Cienna “Cruz” Mellon who often depicts the fruit in their artwork.
